SAE J1979 / ISO 15031-5 set includes the communication between the vehicle's OBD systems and test equipment implemented across vehicles within the scope of the legislated emissions-related OBD.

「J1939」で検索して、最初の方に出てくるのは、規格集合、付録などで、規格本体が最初の方に出てこない。どういう検索方針をしているか未確認。
ISO規格がNormative Referenceしている。

ISO OSI参照モデルのPresentation層の規定はSAEをNormative Referenceしている。
Normative Referenceしていると、ISO の規格の一部として、WTO/TBT協定に基づいた、仕様記述の出発点としてよいということがある。
