AUTOSARの歴史と最新動向に見る、Classic PlatformとAdaptive Platformの関係
欧州を中心に、車載ECUの開発で既に広く使われていた基本ソフトウェア標準規格が、以下の文書群に代表されるOSEK/VDXです。
Operating System（OS、現在のISO 17356-3:2005）
Communication（COM、同ISO 17356-4:2005）
Network Management（NM、同ISO 17356-5:2006）

当初の概念図である。
図にはないが、CANは1993年から交際規格である。
OSEK/VDXは2005年に国際規格である。
この２つは、AUTOSAR以前からの規格である。
FlexRayとLINは、AUTOSARが始まる前はそれぞれConsortium規格であった。
その後、ISO国際規格になっている。
この表にはないが、診断（Diagnostics)規格は、一部アメリカのSAE規格で、それ以外はISO国際規格である。
MOSTもISO規格になっている。
WTO/ITB協定によって、国際的な取引の仕様は、国際規格を尊重し、国際規格との差異を明示することが大切である。
