IBM Cloud上のPowerVSとVPC間のスループット測定

はじめに

IBM Cloud上のPower Virtual Sever(PowerVS)とVritual Private Cloud(VPC)間のスループットを測定した際のメモです。
iperf3とscpの勉強のために行いました。

実施環境

VPC(転送元)

  • IP:192.168.s.s
  • アーキテクチャー:x86
  • OS:CentOS Stream v9
  • vCPU:2
  • RAM:8 GiB RAM
  • ボリューム帯域幅:1 Gbps
  • ネットワーク帯域幅:3 Gbps

PowerVS(転送先)

  • IP:192.168.r.r
  • マシンタイプ:S1022
  • OS:AIX7300-03-00
  • コア数:10
  • メモリー:100 GB
  • ディスク:Tier0 25 IOPS/GB
  • ディスク容量:100 GB

実施内容

  1. iperf3を使ってスループットを測定
    • TCPを使用して、60秒間測定
  2. scpを使って転送の転送速度を測定
    • 2GBのtestファイルを転送した際の転送速度を10回測定

1. iperf3を使ってスループットを測定

転送先のPowerVS側でiperf3を起動しました。

転送元のVPC上でもiperf3を起動し、PowerVSに接続しました。

  • -c 192.168.r.r:転送先サーバー(192.168.r.r)に接続
  • -t 60:通信時間を60秒に指定

2. scpを使って転送の転送速度を測定

Shellファイル(scp.sh)により、scpコマンドを用いた2GBのtestファイルの転送処理を10回繰り返し行いました。

以下のような測定結果が得られました。
