私の環境ではボーレート230400 baud でも使用できました。
readのときのタイムアウトを指定することができ、それを超えるとEOFが返ってきます。
最初は以下のものを使用していたのですが、ボーレートが115200まではよかったのですが、230400ができなかったのでやめました。
