DISTINCTでユニーク化

GROUP BY continent
continentごとに集計する、という指定のために「GROUP BY」が必要です。

SELECT continent, COUNT(name)
FROM world
WHERE population >= 10000000
GROUP BY continent
WHERE句とGROUP BY句の順番に注意しましょう。

SELECT continent
FROM world
GROUP BY continent
HAVING SUM(population) >= 100000000
HAVING句は集計した後の結果で結果が絞られます。
WHERE句は集計する前の値で結果を絞るので、この場合は不適当。
書く順序に違和感があるかも知れませんが、GROUP BY句のあとにHAVING句が読み込まれます。
