8086では、プログラムのJumpに、近距離と遠距離で、プログラムの長さと、処理時間の違いがあった。
なるべくner jumpだけで済ませられれば、高速で小さなプログラムが実現する。

これは、プログラムを小さく、高速にするというCの精神とも合致している。
