自分のosX設定うろ覚え．
emacs初心者がauto-installの設定で手こずった話です．
error
error in process filter: Could not create connection to www.emacswiki.org:443
下記サイトに依ると，homebrewでインストールしたopenssl(/usr/local/Cellar/openssl/1.0.2j/bin)ではなく既存(/usr/bin)のopensslを読みにいっているのが原因(間違ってたらゴメンナサイ)？
.bashrcに以下の記述を追加し，homebrewによるopensslを優先的に読みにいかせる．
export PATH="/usr/local/Cellar/openssl/1.0.2j/bin:$PATH"
設定を反映させてemacsを再起動するとエラーは無事に消えました．
本当は/usr/local/Cellar/opnessl/1.0.2j/binにシンボリックリンクを貼る等の対処をするべきなのかもしれませんが，あまり複雑な設定をしたくなかったのでとりあえず．
