ミニPC Beelink U59をテレビ視聴/録画サーバにしてみた(Celeron N5095)

結論

  • 品質:それほど悪くない
  • 性能:余裕 (テレビ視聴・エンコード・配信)
    • TvTest再生・チャンネル切り替え:普通に速い(自宅中古BDレコーダと比較)
    • TvMaid × QSVEncによるLAN配信も余裕にできた

経緯

激安ミニPC × 4kを再生できるCPU/GPU

Googleフィールド(レコメンデーション)から激安ミニPCおすすめの記事が流れてきて、この去年発売された4コアCPU Celeron N5095 の性能・コスパに着目した。
ミニPC製品に関して、インディーズメーカとはいい、Intel® UHD Graphics搭載・4コア2.0GHzのCeleron N5095 / 256GB SSD / 8GB DDR4 とのスペックを25kの値段で入手できることに驚いた。ミニPCで、場所を取らない・電気代をそれほど食わないメリットもあって、これは録画サーバにかなり向いているんじゃないかと。

競合製品の比較

ここから話す3製品のスペックはほぼ同じである:セレロンN5095 / 8GB / 256G SSD(またどちらも16GB+512GBオプションあり)

  • TRIGKEY Green G2
    最初はこれの(案件)記事流れてきて、いろいろ調べ始めた。記事にBanggoodで24kまで割引するクーポンが付いていた。Banggoodカートに入れてクーポン適用やって割引を確認できたけど、躊躇しているうちに、クーポンの使用回数上限に達しちゃって、割引が使えなくなった。ほかにもAliexpressで26kの値段で販売されている。
    • ブランドHP あり、同製品が掲載されている。
    • Amazonで販売されていない。届くまでかなり日数がかかる。
    • レビュー記事はほぼ案件もので、レビュー動画が極端に少ない。新製品だからまだ試した人が少ないという印象を受けた。
    • 同シリーズの旧製品Green G1のレビュー動画を見つけて、ベンチマークテスト中でシステムダウンが発生し、やり直しても発生、という事情を知ってしまい、なかなか購入確定を押せなかった。
  • Beelink U59
    調べているうちに、このスペックの組み合わせのミニPCは、どうやら「Beelink U59」が先発かつ王者だった。Amazonでは29k、ほかでは26k弱の値段で販売されている。
    • ブランドHPあり、同製品が掲載されている。
    • Amazonで販売されていることでPrimeお急ぎ便が使える。(P.S. 受け取り方法にコンビニを選んだら、自宅に届く日数より1日遅かった)
    • レビュー動画・レビュー記事が多い。相当ユーザー数を有している印象。ビリビリにまでレビュー動画があった。
    • 致命的な故障のレビューは見当たらなかった。
  • BMAX B3 Plus
    上の両製品について調べている間に突如に現れた(新モデル?)。もちろんレビュー動画・記事がTRIGKEY Green G2よりも少なかった。
    • ブランドHPあり、同製品が掲載されているが、他CPU搭載の旧モデルのものであり、N5095搭載新モデルが掲載されていなかった。アウト。

結果、値段的に少し高めだけど、安心感のある「Beelink U59」をチョイスした。

体感

全体的に動作が軽快で、仕事で使っているVAIO製Core i5-8250U / 8G / 256G SSDとさほど差を感じない。レビュー記事の書いた通り、この性能であれば多種多様な用途が期待できる。
試していないが、VS Codeは普通に動くはずで、JetBrains系は少し重いかも。
動画編集でもオブジェクトが多くないなら使えるはず。

おまけ情報:Win11からWin10への移行

プリインストールされた Windows 11 Pro (ライセンス認証済)は、おなじみの Windows 10 メディア作成ツール (Microsoft公式配布、Windows7や8で使っていたやつ)を用い、さり気なく Windows 10 Pro へ"アップグレード"(名義上、実質ダウングレード)できた。ライセンス認証は不要だった。
