How to trade LP fee tokens into a rebalance asset

To turn liquidity pool fee tokens into a rebalance asset, collect the fees, swap any tokens you do not need, then use the resulting balance for your next position adjustment. For example, if your position needs USDC, you can trade its earned WETH fees for USDC on QuickSwap, then check the amount before you rebalance.

Fees arrive in the pool’s two tokens

A liquidity pool is a smart contract that holds tokens people can trade. A liquidity provider, or LP, supplies tokens to that pool and may earn a share of its trading fees. In a token pair such as WETH/USDC, fees can build up in either or both tokens.

For a concentrated-liquidity position, earned fees may show as “collectible” in the position screen before they reach your wallet. QuickSwap’s swap screen can trade one collected token into another, such as WETH into USDC, when USDC is the asset you need for a rebalance.

Collecting fees does not automatically rebalance your position. It moves the fees to your wallet; you still need to swap the amount you want and then adjust or add liquidity separately. If your position is managed by an auto-compounding service, check its rules first, since it may reinvest fees for you.

Collect the fees before you trade them

First, open the page or wallet where your liquidity position appears. Check the network, the position’s fee balances, and the asset you need next. A rebalance asset is simply the token you plan to use when adjusting your position; for example, that might be USDC for a WETH/USDC position.

  1. Check the position. Confirm the token pair and the collectible fee amounts. Make sure you are viewing the correct network; tokens on different networks are separate balances.
  2. Collect the fees. Choose the collect-fees action and confirm it in your wallet. Do not choose an option to remove liquidity unless you also intend to withdraw your position’s principal, meaning the tokens you originally deposited.
  3. Keep network gas available. Gas is the network fee for processing a transaction. On Polygon PoS, transactions use POL for gas, so keep some available for collection, approval, and swap transactions.
  4. Choose the trade. On QuickSwap, connect the wallet on the same network, select the collected fee token as the input, and choose your rebalance asset as the output. Enter the amount to trade; you can leave some behind if you want to keep that token.
  5. Approve and confirm. If asked, approve the app to use the input token, then review and confirm the swap in your wallet. An approval is permission for the app’s contract to spend that token up to the amount shown.
  6. Check the result. After the transaction completes, verify the output token in your wallet before returning to the position screen to rebalance.

Review the quote before confirming

Suppose your position has earned 0.004 WETH and 12 USDC, and you want USDC for the next adjustment. You could leave the 12 USDC untouched and trade only the WETH. The quoted USDC amount is an estimate, so check it against the amount you expect before approving the transaction.

The swap fee is charged by the pool or route used for the trade, while gas is paid to process the transaction on the network. The screen should show the expected output and any price impact, which is how much your trade size moves the offered rate. A large trade against a shallow pool can return less than expected.

Slippage is the price movement you allow between the quote and execution. If the price moves beyond that limit, the trade may fail instead of completing at a worse rate. I would use the interface’s default setting for a small, ordinary trade, and pause if it asks for unusually high slippage or shows a poor output.

Use the tokens that actually support your next adjustment

One edge case is a position that has moved outside its chosen price range. In a standard concentrated-liquidity position, it may earn no new fees while out of range, and its remaining liquidity may be mostly in one token. Swapping collected fees does not fix that range; check the position’s current balance and requirements before adding funds.

Before you finish, confirm the swap output is on the same network as the position and that the position can use that token. Then make the adjustment and review the resulting token amounts. The simple order is: collect, swap only what you need, and rebalance with the confirmed balance.
