学校で配布されたTeXなどで箇条書で書くときに、箇条書きの第1レベルのインデントが何故かバグることがあります。（僕はありました）
そういう場合は
\setlength{\labelwidth}{-10mm}
これを消せば第1レベルの謎のインデントがなくなります。
