gzファイルとは？

  • gzipコマンドを用いて圧縮されたファイル形式のこと
  • UnixOS系に搭載されている（故にWindowsではあまり見かけない）

特徴は？

  • 高い圧縮率と高速な伸縮性があり広く用いられる
  • Deflate形式を用いられている
  • ファイルアーカイブ機能がないことから「tar」と用いられることも多い
    • その場合のファイル名はtar.gz .tgz .tar.gzipとなる

作成コマンド

gzip ファイル名

解凍コマンド

gzip -d  ファイル名
