A とか表示されて、「かな」や「カナ」に変換できない！ってときには、以下のコマンドでGoogleの漢字変換プロセスを終了させてみましょう。
私は毎回これで解決させております。
ターミナルで、
$ killall GoogleJapaneseInput
これでダメならば再起動してます。
