gitのデフォルトエディタはnanoになっています。
revert等のコマンドを実行したとき、コメント編集のためにエディタが立ち上がりますが、その際に慌てふためかないために。
vimに慣れているなら以下のコマンド。
git config --global core.editor "vim"
