どちらもクラウドストレージ。

Amazon S3

  • HTTPSでアクセスできるエンドポイントを提供。
  • バックアップ等で使うことが多い？

Amazon EFS

  • EC2等にマウントして使う。
  • 複数サーバー間の共有ストレージとして使うことが多い？

結論

EC2にマウントして、ディレクトリの一部として使うならEFS、HTTPSでアクセスできるエンドポイントが欲しいならS3のように使い分けると良い（たぶん）
