平素より Google のサービスをご利用いただきありがとうございます。まもなく AI を活用した Google Workspace コアサービスである Gemini アプリと NotebookLM が、すべての年齢層の方にご利用いただけるようになります。
- Gemini アプリを利用可能な Google Workspace for Education ユーザーの年齢層を、13 歳（またはお住まいの国の該当する年齢）以上からすべての年齢層に拡大
- NotebookLM を利用可能な Google Workspace for Education ユーザーの年齢層を、数か月以内に 18 歳以上からすべての年齢層に拡大
2025 年 8 月 1 日までにオプトアウトしなかった場合、既存のお客様については最上位組織部門で Gemini と NotebookLM がオンになります。
オプトアウト期間の終了後、フォローアップ メールでサービスの変更完了をお知らせします。これらのサービスは管理コンソールでいつでもオフにでき、ドメイン内でこれらのサービスを利用できるユーザー、グループ、組織部門も、常時管理できます。

AI を学習や創造的な活動に役立てていただくため、Google は、Gemini と NotebookLM の提供対象をすべての Google Workspace for Education ユーザーに拡大します。教育の専門家と共同構築され学習用にファイン チューニングされたモデル ファミリー、LearnLM を組み込んだ Gemini を、最先端の学習アシスタントとしてぜひご活用ください。
Google Workspace for Education のユーザーは、Gemini アプリ（gemini.google.com およびモバイルアプリ）と NotebookLM（notebooklm.google.com およびモバイルアプリ）を使用して、次のことができるようになります。
- 指導案や補助教材を作成する
- リアルタイムのサポートで授業内容の理解を深める
- 課題に対するフィードバックを取得し、理解度を確認する
未成年の学習者（18 歳未満の生徒）向けの機能

組織における Gemini と NotebookLM の使用に適用される利用規約
年齢制限が更新され、すべての Workspace for Education ユーザー向けのコアサービスとなったことを受け、Gemini アプリと NotebookLM は今後、Google Workspace for Education の利用規約（エンタープライズ級の保護機能を含み、FERPA や COPPA など多くの業界規制に適合）の対象となります。
この利用規約により、チャットやアップロードされたファイルを人間のレビュアーが確認したり、Google の AI モデルの改善に使用したりすることはありません。Google は、Google Workspace の生成 AI に関するプライバシー ハブと Google Workspace for Education のプライバシーに関するお知らせの定めに従い、ユーザーのデータを取り扱います。
Gemini アプリと NotebookLM は、すべてのユーザーを対象とした Workspace for Education の他のコアサービスと同様、2025 年 8 月以降、Workspace for Education の新規のお客様すべてに対してデフォルトでオンになります。

Gemini と NotebookLM へのアクセスの管理
- 2025 年 8 月 1 日 まで:
- 既存のお客様の最上位組織部門で Gemini アプリと NotebookLM（またはそのいずれか）をオンにしたくない場合は、ドメインに関連付けられた特権管理者またはサービス管理者が管理コンソールでオプトアウトします。
- オプトアウトせず、他の組織部門に対して Gemini または NotebookLM をオフに設定している場合、Gemini または NotebookLM はそれらの組織部門のユーザーに対して引き続きオフとなります。
- オプトアウトした場合、Gemini アプリと NotebookLM の既存の設定は変更されません。Gemini アプリと NotebookLM にアクセスできるユーザーは引き続きアクセスでき、アクセスできないユーザーは引き続きアクセスできません。
重要: Gemini アプリまたは NotebookLM がドメインに対してオンになっている場合でも、必要に応じて管理コンソールでオフにできます。

- Gemini の回答を再確認する方法をユーザーに説明してください。
- Gemini と NotebookLM が人間ではないことをユーザーに伝えてください。モデルやアプリは人間のように話すこともありますが、独自の思考や感情はありません。フィルタの設定により不適切なコンテンツへのアクセスをある程度制限することはできますが、完全に制限することはできません。リスクを抑えるために、授業で学習したトピックに誘導するようにしてください。

Dear Google Workspace for Education administrator,
We’re writing to inform you that the Gemini app and NotebookLM, AI-powered Google Workspace Core Services, are expanding to support all ages.
- The Gemini app, previously available only to Google Workspace for Education users age 13 or older (or the applicable age in your country), is now available for all ages
- NotebookLM, currently available only to Google Workspace for Education users age 18 or older, will become available for all ages in the coming months
If you do not opt out by August 1, 2025, Gemini and NotebookLM will be turned ON at the top-level organizational unit for existing customers.
After the opt out period, we’ll send a follow-up communication to let you know that the service changes are complete. You can turn these services OFF in the Admin console at any time and can always manage which users, groups, or organizational units can access these services in your domain.
We’ve provided additional information below to guide you through this update.
What this means for your organization
AI can be a valuable tool for learning and creativity, which is why we are making Gemini and NotebookLM available to all Google Workspace for Education users. Gemini incorporates LearnLM, our family of models fine-tuned for learning and built with experts in education, making it the world’s leading model for learning.
Your Google Workspace for Education users will be able to use the Gemini app (gemini.google.com and the mobile app) and NotebookLM (notebooklm.google.com and the mobile app) to:
- Create lesson plans and extra study materials
- Receive in-the-moment support to deepen understanding of class material
- Get feedback on their work and check their understanding
A distinct experience for younger learners (students under 18)
- Stricter Gemini and NotebookLM policies limit potentially inappropriate or harmful responses.
- A special youth-oriented Gemini onboarding experience with AI literacy resources endorsed by ConnectSafely and Family Online Safety Institute helps younger students use AI responsibly.
- The first time a user asks Gemini a fact-based question, a double-check response feature runs automatically, powered by Google Search. Users can employ this feature at any time to help validate Gemini’s responses.
Terms governing your organization’s use of Gemini and NotebookLM
The Google Workspace for Education terms, which include enterprise-grade protections and support compliance with many industry regulations like FERPA and COPPA, now cover the Gemini app and NotebookLM as Core Services for all Workspace for Education users, reflecting updated age restrictions.
The terms also provide that your chats or any uploaded files are not reviewed by human reviewers or otherwise used to improve Google's AI models. Google will process your users’ data as described in the Generative AI in Google Workspace Privacy Hub and the Google Workspace for Education Privacy Notice.
In alignment with other Core Services available to all Workspace for Education users, the Gemini app and NotebookLM will be default ON for all new Workspace for Education customers in August 2025.
What you need to do
Manage access to Gemini and NotebookLM
- By August 1, 2025:
- Opt out in the Admin console by a Super admin or Services admin associated with your domain if you do not want Gemini app and/or NotebookLM turned ON at the top-level organizational unit for existing customers
- If you do not opt out and have configured Gemini or NotebookLM OFF for other organization units, Gemini or NotebookLM will remain OFF for users in those organizational units.
- If you opt out, your existing Gemini app and NotebookLM settings will not change. Users with access to the Gemini app and/or NotebookLM will continue to have access and those who don’t will continue to not have access.
Important: If the Gemini app or NotebookLM are turned ON for your domain, you remain in control and can turn these services OFF in the Admin console at any time.
Admins remain in control and can easily:
- Manage which users can access the Gemini app
- Manage which users can access NotebookLM
- Set up groups or organizational units to give only certain users in their domain access
- Review your organization’s Gemini usage in the Admin console and use Vault with eDiscovery to see and export users’ Gemini chats

Some helpful reminders:
- AI tools, including Gemini and NotebookLM, can make mistakes. So, help your users think critically about Gemini responses.
- Show users how to double-check responses in Gemini.
- Remind your users that Gemini and NotebookLM aren’t human. Even though a model or app sometimes talks like a person, they do not possess independent thoughts or emotions. Our filters limit access to inappropriate content, but they’re not perfect. Minimize this risk by steering your users to the topics covered in class.
