はじめに
2020年4月23日、Ubuntu 20.04がリリースされました。
Ubuntuは通例として、偶数年度の4月リリースは長期サポート版（LTS：Long Term Support）です。
サポート期間は5年間！（〜2025年4月まで）
前回のLTSである Ubuntu 18.04からアップグレードする方々もいらっしゃると思いますので、アップグレード手順のメモをここに残します。

前提条件
以下の条件を満たすVPS/オンプレサーバを保有している事を前提条件とします。
- Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS が動作している事。
- インターネットに接続する経路を持つ事。
- リモート環境からSSH接続が可能である事。
手順

sudo apt updateを実行します。

本コマンドを実行せずに次のステップに進んだ場合は、以下のエラーが表示され、操作が中断されます。

4.sudo do-release-upgrade -dを実行します。「-d」オプションは必須です。
※ LTSからLTSへのアップグレードする場合は/etc/update-manager/release-upgradesを編集する必要はありません。

5.この画面でyを入力します。デフォルト値はNなので、必ず入力してください。

6.Enterを押します。
Starting additional sshd
To make recovery in case of failure easier, an additional sshd will
be started on port '1022'. If anything goes wrong with the running
ssh you can still connect to the additional one.
If you run a firewall, you may need to temporarily open this port. As
this is potentially dangerous it's not done automatically. You can
open the port with e.g.:
'iptables -I INPUT -p tcp --dport 1022 -j ACCEPT'

7.upgrade開始の確認が表示されるので、yを入力します。デフォルト値はNなので、必ず入力してください。

8.しばらくすると、下記画面が表示されます。Enterを押します。

11.Enterを押します。

12.古いパッケージ一覧が表示されるので、yを入力して削除します。デフォルト値はNなので、必ず入力してください。

13.アップグレードを完了させる為にyを入力して再起動します。デフォルト値はNなので、必ず入力してください。

14.ubuntuが再起動されます。
15.SSHにて、再接続します。
16.more /etc/os-releaseを実行して、Ubuntuのバージョンを確認します。
