Apacheモジュールではなく、
cgi版PHPを使用している場合、basic認証が使えない。
使えるようにするには、
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP:Authorization} ^(.*)
RewriteRule ^(.*) - [E=HTTP_AUTHORIZATION:%1]
を、.htaccessに追加するといい。
