One thing I struggled with when creating AI videos was consistency.

Generating a single impressive clip was easy, but producing multiple scenes with the same visual style, camera movement, and subject often took much longer than expected.

I found myself constantly adjusting prompts, regenerating clips, and trying to match scenes during editing.

Instead of looking for another AI model, I decided to improve my workflow first.

That's when I started building a reference-first workflow with Seedance 2.0.

What Is Seedance 2.0?

Seedance 2.0 is an AI video generation model designed around multimodal content creation.

Some of the capabilities I use most often include:

Text-to-Video
Image-to-Video
Audio-to-Video
Video-to-Video
Multi-reference generation
Multi-shot storytelling
Native audio generation
Clip extension and refinement

What makes it different for my workflow is its ability to combine multiple reference assets while keeping motion, composition, and visual style more consistent across scenes.

My Workflow

Step 1 — Build the Reference Assets

Instead of starting with a video prompt, I first prepare one or two reference images.

Example prompt:

A luxury skincare product on a marble countertop,
soft morning sunlight,
minimalist premium branding,
cinematic commercial photography,
highly detailed

The goal isn't creating a perfect image.

The goal is creating a strong visual reference.

Step 2 — Generate the Video

Once the references are ready, I upload them into Seedance 2.0 AI Video Generator.

Instead of describing every detail again, I mainly describe movement.

Example motion prompt:

Slow cinematic camera push in,
soft reflections,
natural lighting transition,
premium commercial atmosphere,
smooth product rotation

I've found that keeping prompts focused on motion produces much more predictable results than rewriting the entire scene.

Step 3 — Refine Instead of Restarting

One feature I use frequently is refining specific sections instead of regenerating the whole clip.

If I don't like:

Camera movement
Character motion
Scene transition

I only adjust that part and generate another variation.

This saves a significant amount of time compared with rebuilding everything from scratch.

Step 4 — Final Editing

Once I have the version I like, I move it into CapCut.

Normally I only add:

Captions
Music
Logo
Basic transitions

Since most of the storytelling is already generated, editing becomes much faster.

Use Cases

This workflow has worked well for several projects.

Product Marketing

Creating multiple advertising concepts from one product image.

YouTube Shorts

Building cinematic short-form videos quickly.

Brand Campaigns

Keeping the same visual identity across multiple videos.

Storyboarding

Testing camera movement before full production.

Social Media Content

Creating TikTok, Instagram Reels, and X videos with a repeatable process.

Why This Workflow Works

The biggest improvement wasn't simply better video quality.

It was having a repeatable production process.

Starting with reference assets, focusing prompts on motion, and refining individual clips instead of restarting every generation has dramatically reduced the time I spend creating videos.

Seedance 2.0 also supports multimodal references, native audio-video generation, clip extension, partial refinement, and precise camera control, making it well suited for production-oriented workflows rather than one-off generations.

Final Thoughts

After experimenting with different AI video models, I've found that improving the workflow has had a much bigger impact than switching tools.

A reference-first approach, simple motion prompts, and iterative refinement have helped me create more consistent videos while spending less time on unnecessary regeneration.

If you're exploring AI video creation, try building your own reference-first workflow and experiment with different motion prompts. You may discover that small workflow improvements make a much bigger difference than changing models.
