docker – mysql コマンドでローカルから接続できない ( Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' )

エラー

$ mysql -u root -P 9999
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

docker-compose.yml

version: '3'
services:
  db:
    image: mysql
    environment:
      MYSQL_ALLOW_EMPTY_PASSWORD: "yes"
    ports:
      - "9999:3306"

解決

ホストを指定したら接続できた ( -h 127.0.0.1 )

$ mysql -h 127.0.0.1 -u root -P 9999
