統計の本はいくつか挫折したので、初学者用を越えて子供向けから学び直した。
今まで少しづつでも一般向けの統計本を読んでいたこともあり、この本はかなりスムーズに読み進められた。
「統計には落とし穴がある」と統計による騙しのテクニックについても言及しているのだが、最後の方にある「来日外国人犯罪検挙件数と訪日外国人の推移」グラフにて、「外国人の犯罪は増えているはず」というのは思い込みだと騙してるのはこの本の著者と監修である。
「犯罪数」と「検挙数」は違う。
検挙数で犯罪数をカウントできるのであれば、来日外国人犯罪は全て検挙されていることになる。そんな話は聞いたことがない。
「騙されるな」と言いながら「騙しにかかる」のがこの本。
統計が苦手な人には勧めるが、騙されないように。
I failed to complete some books of statistics and I started with this book for child beyond beginner of statistics.
Thanks for reading small part of statistics for general adults until that time, I can complete reading this book quite smoothly.
This book also refers to an deceit technic by a statement "Statistics is fraught with trap" but using a graph of "A transitional number of apprehending criminals who visit to Japan from foreign country and of foreign visitors" illustrated on a end part of this book, the fraud is the author and general editor of this book who deceive readers by an explanation that "The number of crime by foreign visitors to Japan must increase." is an illusion.
"The number of crime" and "The number of roundup" are different.
If the number of crime can be counted by the number of roudup, all foreign criminals visiing to Japan come down to be arrested. I have never heard such an information.
Trying to deceive readers with "Don't be deceived." is this book.
This book can be recommended for those who are not good at statistics but keep your mind not to be deceived.
