音声パケットについて

VoIPなどでデータを送信するときにRTPパケットというものを使用します。
一方wavファイルだと13/14/16ビットのためファイルサイズが大きいことから圧縮して送信します。
G.711で策定されているu-law/a-lawが広く用いられています。

u-law

リニアPCMの音声を8ビットにしたものです。
北米、日本で使われています。

A-law

リニアPCMの音声を8ビットにしたものです。
その他の国で使われています。
