カナリーは、StackGuardやGCCのStack-Smashing Protector (ProPoliceという名前でも知られる)として実装されている。またMicrosoft Visual C++ .NETの実装では、スタックバッファオーバーラン検知の一部として実装されている。
それぞれのコンパイラやIDEで別の名前としてstack canaryに相当するものが用意されているのだろう。
