CentOS8をインストールしようとしたところ、
インストール用のisoファイルのサイズが6GBもあった。
そこで以下からLive版と思しき"CentOS-8-x86_64-1905-boot.iso"をダウンロードしてインストールしてみた。（こちらは534MB）
やはりLive版のため、リポジトリのURLを指定する必要があった。
URL指定がCentOS7までと異なるようで、以下を指定するとインストールできた。
