mapの概念の理解の仕方

mapはなんでmapなのか？地図と関連あるのか？

mapの語源は地図ではない。数学用語のmapping、写像から来ている。

写像ってなに？

集合A、集合Bがあった時、集合Aに属しているaに対して、集合Bの要素を一つ返すような関数を写像という。

結局写像って何よ？

入力値がいっぱいある関数のこと

それでどうやってrubyのmapと結びつければいい

入力値がいっぱいある集団をまとめて変更し、出力してくれる便利な魔法がmap
