FreeBSD14.2 RELEASE

14.2R 来ました。

12/3 特にRCからの差し戻しはなかったので予定通りだったようです。

14.1-RELEASE からの 変更箇所

  • OCI コンテナ イメージが登場
  • インストーラが、ファームウェアをダウンロードしてくれるようになった。
  • OpenZFS 2.2.6 に更新
  • OpenSSL 3.0.15 に更新

余り大きな変更はなかったことから、FreeBSD14.1からのアップグレード処理・・・
 "world/base","kernel/generic" しか更新しない、自宅の貧弱マシン(Express5800/GT110b-Xeon L3426)でしたけど30分程度で終わりました..

  • 困り事としては、drm-kmod61 問題があるかもしれません。デスクトップ利用で引っかかる人もいるようで、open-issue として記載されています。これは、ちょっと前にDP出力のサーバできちんとモニターと相互通信しないVTカーネルドライバが先に入る為にKVMスイッチ、ケーブル挿抜でモニター機能が再開できない現象があり、drm-kmod61ドライバを入れておく必要がありました。最新のサーバ機器ではDPを使っている場合がありますからコンソール作業がいささか厄介になりがちです。早く解決できると良いですね、
