VirtualBox6.0のLinuxでGuest Additionsが効かない問題をディスプレイ設定で解決した

解くべき問題

VirtualBox6.0に入れたLinux Mintで，画面サイズ（解像度）が自動可変にならない
（Guest Additionsをインストールしたのに）

※Linux Mintと書いたが他のディストリビューションでも似た現象があった

原因

仮想マシンのディスプレイ設定：Graphics ControllerがVMSVGAだった

  • VMSVGAとはVirtualBox6で追加された3Dグラフィックス用の設定らしい
  • よくわからんがディスプレイ設定がVMSVGAだと画面サイズの自動可変ができない
  • VBoxVGAにしたら自動可変した（だいたい3秒以内に変わってくれる）
  • 要するに設定の問題なので，他のLinuxディストリビューションでも同じ現象は起こり得る
  • 初期設定がVMSVGAだったので，仮想マシンを作った時は一々変える必要がある
