haproxyにてmysqlのヘルスチェックを行っていた時に、エラーが頻発して、コネクションが解放されずに溜まってしまい、最終的には接続ができなくなった問題がありました。
haproxy.cfg
option mysql-check user haproxy
ここではhaproxyユーザーがmysqlに登録されていないために発生したようです。
mysql側にhaproxyユーザーを作成して、解決しました。
