【内容】
昨年8月に発表されたGoogleのEdge TPU。
ずっと購入できる日を待っていました。
2019年の3月に販売が開始され、USB Acceleratorleratorを購入しましたが、Single Board ComputerであるDevBoardは技適の関係で日本への出荷は叶わず。
それをこの度、やっと入手することができましたので早速公式手順に従ってセットアップを試みました。
しかし、公式手順ではLinuxおよびMacでのセットアップが前提となっています。
VirtualBox上のUbuntu環境からセットアップしてみようかと思いましたが、せっかくなのでWindows単体でのセットアップに挑戦します。
【概要】
基本的には下記の公式手順をWindowsで動く形に置き換えています。

なお、操作にはWindows 10 Pro/Home (1903)で実施しています。
必要なHW
- WindowsのPC
- USB-microB ケーブル (PCとDevBoardのSerial Consoleをつなぐのに必要です)
- USB-C ケーブル (PC ト data portポートをつなぐのに必要です)
- 5V/2~3AのUSB Type-Cの電源 (DevBaordに電源を供給します。スマホの電源で代用できます)
- 有線LANケーブルまたはWi-Fi接続 (本手順ではWi-Fi接続のみ)
必要なSW
Android Platform Tools内に含まれている「fastboot」が必要になります。
事前に下記のURLからダウンロードして適当な場所に解凍しておきます。

またSerialコンソールに接続できるコンソールアプリが必要です。
私は「TeraTerm」を利用しました。
【DIPスイッチの設定】
ブートモードスイッチをeMMCモードに設定します。
設定する際にはDevBoardの電源やケーブル類が完全に抜いてある状態で行ってください。

【PCとの接続】
まずは、PCとDevBoardのSerial Consoleを接続します。
Serial Consoleは40PIN GPIOの隣にあるMicroUSB端子になります。
Serial ConsoleとPCのUSB端子を接続すると自動的にUART Bridge VCPドライバーがインストールされました。
デバイスマネージャを確認すると下記のように表示されます。
今回は「COM4」または「COM5」として認識したようです。
次にコンソールアプリでDevBoardが接続されたVCPに接続します。
DevBoard接続時に「COM4」と「COM5」の2つのポートが認識されましたが、本手順の場合は「Silicon Labs Dual CP2105 USB to UART Bridge: Enhanced COM Port」と表示されている「COM5」に接続しました。
また、その際に通信速度は「115200」に設定します。
この時点ではDevBoardには電源が供給されていないため、何も表示されません。
次にDevBoardに電源を供給するためにUSB-TypeCの端子に5V/2Aの電源を供給します。
DevBoardにはUSB-TypeCの端子が2つありますが、ヘッドフォンジャックの隣の端子が電源供給ポートになります。
DevBoardに電源を供給するとファンが勢いよく回りだし、Serial Consoleに以下が表示されます。

Configured USB Switch for UFP
VCPドライバが自動的にインストールされない場合 (2019/08/26 追記)
別のWindowes端末(Windows 10 Pro (1809))につないだ際に、VCPドライバが自動的にインストールされませんでした。
その際には以下よりドライバをダウンロードしてインストールすることで、VCPとして認識されました。

【fastbootの確認】
fastbootが動作するか、確認します。
DevBoardのDataポート(もう一つのUSB-TypeC端子)とPCを接続します。
正しく接続できると「USB Download Gadget」というデバイスが追加されますが、ドライバが正常に読み込まれていない状態になっています。
「ドライバーの更新」を実行し「コンピュータを参照してドライバソフトウェアを検索」>「コンピュータ上の利用可能なドライバの一覧から選択します」を選択します。
表示された「ドライバー更新」ダイアログで「すべてのデバイスを表示」を指定し「次へ」を実行します。
続いて表示されたダイアログの左ペインから「WinUsbデバイス」を指定し、右ペインで「ADBデバイス」を選択し「次へ」を実行します。
続いてコマンドプロンプトかPowerShellを開き、下記コマンド実行します。
先の手順でAndroid Platform Toolsを展開したフォルダの fastboot
コマンドを実行しています。
本手順では「C:\platform-tools」に展開した想定です。

下記のような結果が表示されたら動作確認は成功です。

【システムイメージのダウンロードと解凍】
公式手順に従い、以下のURLからシステムイメージをダウンロードします。

コマンドプロンプトから curl
コマンドを使ってダウンロードすることも可能です。

ダウンロードできたら適当な場所に解凍してください。
【システムイメージのFLASH】
公式手順では、このあと解凍したフォルダ内の flash.sh
を実行して、イメージのフラッシュを行っていますが、Windowsではそのままでは実行できません。
flash.sh
内でイメージをフラッシュしている部分のみ抜き出し、コマンドプロンプト上で以下のコマンドを実行します。
<システムイメージ解凍フォルダ>
および <fastbootがおいてあるフォルダ>
は自分の環境に合わせて変更してください。
なお、timeoutが挿入されている部分はDevBoardの再起動待ちなので、連続実行しないようにしています。

【Wifi設定 その1 (失敗)】
とにかくPCにつながっているケーブルを外したいので、DevBoardをWifiに接続します。
公式手順に沿ってSerial Consoleでログインした状態で、以下のコマンドを実行します。
nmtui
下記の画面が表示されるので、「Activate a connection」から接続したいSSIDを選択します。
が、私の環境では対象となるSSIDが表示されませんでしたので、次に記すコマンドラインからの接続を試みました。
【Wifi設定 その2 (成功)】
私の環境ではSSIDがステルスになっているので、コマンドラインから直接SSIDを指定して接続を試みます。
まずはSSIDのrescanを行ってみます。
sudo nmcli device wifi rescan
sudo nmcli device wifi list
いつもなら大量に表示されるの周囲のSSIDがほとんど表示されません。
ダメもとで接続を試みます。
sudo nmcli device wifi connect <YOUR SSID> password <password>
Error: No network with SSID '<YOUR SSID>' found.
やっぱりダメでした…
Jetson Nanoはこれでうまくいったんですがね。

ネットワークに繋がったので、これでSerial Consoleからケーブルを抜いて快適なDevBoardライフが送れるはずです。

公開キーエラーで弾かれてしまいました。
DevBoardのsshはパスワード認証を許可していないようです。

【デモプログラムを動かす】
インストール済みのデモプログラム「Edge TPU Performance Demo」を動かします。
画面に表示する場合とHTTP越しにストリーミングする2通りのパターンが実行できます。

今回はHeadlessセットアップのため、画面表示を行えませんのでストリーミングを実行してみました。
Webブラウザから <DevboradのIP>:4664
にアクセスすると、下記画像のように表示されます。
なお、下部画像部分がリアルタイムに表示されます。
【最後に】
とりあえず使えるようにはなりました。
基本的にHeadlessでセットアップできるようになっているので非常に私好みです。
というか、HDMIにTVを接続すると何が表示されるのでしょうか?
一点気になるのは現時点ではファンが回らず、何もしていないのにヒートシンクがかなり熱を持っています。
システムイメージを書き込む前はウルサイぐらいの勢いで回っていたのですが…
負荷をかければちゃんと回ってくれるのでしょうか?
ちなみに、購入については以下より行いました。
