近年では
Excel2007のOpenDocument対応 OfficeOpenXML対応(.xlsx対応)、マルチスレッド対応
Excel2016のJavascriptAPI対応、新関数追加(IFS,SWITCHなど)
Excel2021のスピル機能や新関数追加(XLOOKUP,LETなど)
が結構大きな変更ですかね。。
