事象

Visual Studio Codeでサブモジュールがたくさん含まれているGitリポジトリを開くとThe "xxx" repository has x submodules which won't be opened automatically. You can still open each one individually by opening a file within.という警告が表示される。

原因

Visual Studio Codeが開いたGitリポジトリに含まれるサブモジュールのリポジトリ情報を読み込むが、その数に上限が設定されている。

解決方法

解決方法1

Git: Detect Submodules Limitの値を増やす。

解決方法2

Git: Detect Submodulesのチェックを外す。
