Raspberry Pi 5で6GHz

はじめに

こんにちは、kazuです。
皆さん6GHz使ってますか?
今回はラズパイで6GHz使えるようにするのに苦戦したので意地でも記事に残します!!!

環境

Raspberry pi 5 8G
変換HAT MPW7
AX210NGW
Ubuntu24.04LTS

状況確認

iwをつかって現状を確認します (sudo apt install iw)

ご覧の通り、6GHz帯が表示されていません。
理由は2つあって、

  • 無線の規約的なのが更新されていない
  • 使っているデバイスが6GHzに対応していない
    順番に解決していきましょう

regdbの更新

基本的にsudo apt update / upgradeをすれば問題ないですがいくつか注意点があります。

1. crdaがない

これはUbuntu22 or 24から削除されたそうです。
他の方の記事やChatGPTは crda に最新のdbを設置すると書かれていることがありますが、Ubuntu24, Debian bookwormでは存在しませんでした。
変わりにwireless-regdbを自力でビルドする方法もありますが、今回は必要がなかったので省きます。
linuxのwireless-regdbだけを最新のものにしてビルドするだけです(めんどい)

2. 国がJPにならない

この問題はLANカードが無効化されていたりスキャンをしていないと発生します。
基本的に周囲のwifiから国を特定しているので次のステップで解決できることが多いです

デバイスの競合解決

rpi5には標準でwifiが使えるようになっています。
今回は外付けでAX210をつけているのでシステムがどっちを使えばよいかわからなくなって2台同時接続したりします。
他にもいろいろな問題があるので以下の手順で内蔵wifiを無効化します

  1. lsmod で内蔵wifiに対応しているやつを探します。基本的にはbrcm(fmac,util)です
  2. テキストエディタで /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf (OSによっては名前が変わる)を開きます
  3. 以下の内容を書き加えます
    blacklist brcmfmac
    blacklist brcmutil
    
  4. sudo reboot

起動後 ip link show コマンドでwlan0が消えていることが確認できます

確認

iw reg getを実行し利用可能な周波数を確認します。
うまく設定できていれば以下のような出力になります
