表題の通り、sudo setup.py installを実行すると、/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/easy-install.pthが作成されます。
sitecustomize.pyを別に活用している場合は環境が壊れる可能性があるので注意してください。
sudo pip install .がおすすめです。
