はじめに
AIX (IBM の Unix OS) の導入方法が増えたなぁと思いましたのでザクっと確認しました。
オンプレミスの場合

① メディア(DVD)インストール

③ USB フラッシュ・メモリーを使用
AIX 7.2 TL2 あたりから USB インストールがサポートされています。

Installing AIX using a USB flash memory stick
AIX 7 with 7200-02 supports installation using a USB flash memory stick on POWER8 and later systems. A USB flash memory stick containing an AIX installation image can be created by first downloading the AIX installation image from the IBM Entitled System Support website. A single volume installation image of AIX 7 with 7200-02 is made available on the IBM Entitled System Support website for writing to USB flash memory. After downloading the AIX installationx the image can be written to a USB flash memory stick. IBM recommends using a recently manufactured USB flash memory stick. The minimum capacity requirements of the USB flash memory stick for AIX installation is 16 GB. On an AIX or a Linux based system, the image can be written to a USB flash memory stick using the dd command:

④ VIOS 仮想メディア・リポジトリで、iso イメージの導入 (VIOS環境のみ)
iso ファイルをダウンロードして、VIOS メディア・リポジトリで仮想メディアにロードし、LPARに割り当てて使用します。

以下はRHELでの実行ですがご参考ログです。
なお、AIX 7.3 で mksysb から iso を作成することが可能になっているので、mksysb -> iso -> 仮想メディア・インストールができそうです。(VIOS 環境で NIMサーバーがない場合などを想定?)

⑤ PowerVCを使用した VM デプロイ
イメージ元の AIX は Cloud Ready imageを製品ダウンロード・サイトからダウンロードして使用または、カスタムで cloud-init を導入したAIX をキャプチャーなど。

① デフォルトで用意されている AIXのブート・イメージを使用

② ova ファイルを準備して持ち込む (オンプレミスでPowerVC を使用してブート・イメージをエクスポートまたは create_ova コマンドで ovaイメージ・ファイルを作成)

③ クラウド上でNIMサーバーを立てて、mksysb を持ち込みリストア
