はじめに
先日，自作アプリのアップデートを審査に提出し，2 回の Metadata Rejected をいただき，対応後リリースできました。
そのときのリジェクトの内容と対応について書きます。
今回の Reject の内容
バイナリ却下とメタデータ却下があるらしい。
バイナリ却下はアプリクラッシュなどを含むアプリ自体に問題がある場合，メタデータ却下はアプリの説明に情報が不足してたりするときになされる。
なお，どういう理由でリジェクトされたかは Apple が Developer サイトで公開している。

私の場合は 2 回ともメタデータリジェクトでした。
最初のリジェクトはもっとも多い理由の More Information needed.
メールでも通知が来る。Resolution Center(問題解決センター) でやりとりする。内容は下記。

We began the review of your app but aren't able to continue >because we need additional information about your app.
At your earliest opportunity, please review the following question(s) and provide as much detailed information as you can. The more information you can provide upfront, the sooner we can complete your review.

というもの。今回のアップデートで TodayExtension を追加実装したため，常に最新の天気情報を取得するためにバックグラウンドでの位置情報を要求するようになった。それが伝わりづらかったようだ。このレベルなら App Review に関する情報 のメモ欄にしっかり書いておけば良かった可能性がある。要求に応じてしっかり返信を返す。

My App requires background location to get weather information. I added "Today Extension" function in this version.This weather information is used for "Today Extension".When user opens Notification center, user can browse latest weather information.

返信後，ここで 再審査に提出ボタン を押してしまった。
最後の一文の意味が解釈の仕方によってはなかなか不親切で，一旦必要な情報書いて返信返してくれたら，審査を続けることができるって書いてある。返信をすれば，勝手に審査に戻ってくれるということなんだよなぁ。審査に再提出してしまうと勝手に最後尾に並び直すことになる。
4 日後審査中になって再度，メタデータリジェクトになった。
今回の内容は下記。見ての通り， とても親切 である。
Apple のレビュアも鬼ではないということだ。

次のステップの通り，アプリの説明文に追加して下記のように返信出した。

I added the sentence to my description. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. And I added Japanese one, too.
Please confirm my modification.
今回はこのまま待った。翌日に再審査に入ってくれて即日審査通過できた。
今回の Status History
今回のアプリのアップデートの Status History は下画像。
最初の Metadata Rejected は返信後再審査に提出ボタンを押下した。
結果，4 日後に再審査になっている。一方，2 度目の Metadata Rejected の際は返信後，そのまま待った。翌日には再審査に入っていることがわかる。早ければ，1 時間後に再審査になることもあるらしい。アメリカ時間をある程度意識すればいいのかもしれない。ただ，サンフランシスコ時間で AM8:00 にステータスが変わったこともある。よくわからない。
おわりに
今回は，リジェクトの内容と再審査に提出ボタンを押したらだめってことについて書いた。
リジェクトの内容については頭を悩ませるような大したものではなく完全に私の確認不足だった。4 度くらいこれまで出して 1 回もリジェクトされたことがなかったのが過信になっていた。次回からは気をつけたい。
メタデータリジェクトの場合は，問題解決センターで返信を出して，再審査に提出ボタンは押さずにおとなしく待つ。
かなりリリースが遅れてしまうので，一度頭に入れておけばもう大丈夫だと思う。誰かの役に立てばいいなと思います。
