オームの法則とは、電気回路の振る舞いを記述する法則。
具体的には、電圧(V)、電流(I)、抵抗(R)の関係を表す法則で以下の式である。
V = I * R
V は電圧（単位：ボルト[V]）
I は電流（単位：アンペア[A]）
R は抵抗（単位：オーム[Ω]）
これらを計算せずに過電流や過電圧を流すと、電気回路を壊してしまうことになる。
