After coming across this same issue myself, looking for answers, trying numerous things what worked was a simple user error...

I had failed to click "save" in the top right of the flow. 🤦🏼‍♂️ I saved the element, but not the flow. Hope this helps someone else avoid the silly mistake I was making!

Try changing the variable name to Contact.
