- Enable enhanced domains. In this step, you update the My Domain setting, and then Salesforce provisions the corresponding domains. In other words, we get them ready for you to deploy.
There's no impact to your users during this process, and no change to your URLs. The provisioning process usually finishes in a few minutes, but can take up to 24 hours.
In fact, we recommend that you take this step and get your new My Domain provisioned at least 24 hours before you intend to take the next step. You may even discover that the feature is already enabled for you, because Salesforce is taking this step in many orgs now in preparation of the auto-deployment in Spring '23.

2. Deploy the new My Domain with enhanced domains. After you deploy the change, the new URLs are "live". This process is almost instantaneous, and any connections to your org (users logged in, interfaces running) are interrupted and must log in again.
