The devops package that we are using is 5.5. And the source tracking is enabled.

This issue occurred happened because the work item - 43, it was merged out side devops and it was taking a lot of time to reflect the changes in the devops center and due to time sensitivity it was deployed out of devops and taken to UAT and enventually deployed to production.

Afterward, the work item starts reflecting the commits in devops and when we promoted it to TEST then it start giving this error when trying to click promotion and now it blocks the whole pipeline.

How to solve "internal data model" errors?

Did this error occur when you clicked Pull Changes or at some other time? The most common cause of this error is that the dev environment doesn't have source tracking enabled. This issue is references in the Troubleshooting here: https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.devops_center_troubleshooting.htm&type=5.

Also, in the GA release we've changed this part of the flow such that it would not have allowed you to add the Dev Environment to the project if Source Tracking was not enabled. So I also wanted to be sure you have the latest version of the product, which is package version 5.3.
