元々、僕は Power Apps は過去に2回挫折をしています。コーディングが苦手で関数すら拒絶反応があるくらいでした。そんな中 Power Apps でゲームを作っている人たちがいました。びっくりしましたね。そういう事もできてしまうんだ？と。そして、ゲームのコンテストも行われていて盛り上がっていましたが、僕はコーディングが苦手なので、彼らのような複雑な関数を利用する事はできないので、見ているだけで作ろうとは思いませんでした。
そんな中でも、非常に簡単な関数の組み合わせで脱出ゲームを作って一人で満足していたのですが、 Power Apps を触っていくうちに「オーディオコントロール」というコントロールを見つけました。そこでふと考えたんです。「あれ？これ使えばオーディオファイルを使って楽器アプリが作れるんじゃない？」と。そして一番単純なのはドラムアプリかなと思って、コソコソと作っていました。

■Kodama氏との出会い（Meeting Kodama）
僕の楽器アプリの思いを大きく加速させ、その後 Japan Power Apps Orchestra を結団させる大きなきっかけになったのがKodama氏（ https://twitter.com/KodamaJn ）との出会いでした。当時、僕はまだ彼の存在を知らなく、もちろん Twitter ではフォローもしていませんでした。そんなある時に、 Twitter のタイムラインで Power Apps でピアノアプリを作成したというツイートを見かけたんです。僕みたいな考えを持っている人が他にいたのか！と衝撃を受けました。その場で彼をフォローして話しかけましたね。そして油断してドラムアプリの作成を先延ばしにしていた僕にとって大きなモチベーションアップとなりました。そして産まれたのがドラムアプリです。さらに、プログラマーとしてはKodama氏の方が数倍上なので、彼にアドバイスを求めながらドラムアプリのバージョンアップを重ねて今があります。

My encounter with Kodama ( https://twitter.com/KodamaJn ) was a great catalyst for accelerating my thoughts on musical instrument apps, and then bringing the Japan Power Apps Orchestra together. 元々ミュージシャンだった僕にとっては、楽器アプリを作成して演奏すれば、演奏会をしたいと思う事は自然な流れでした。また、この時に思っていたのが、「何かしら世界初をやってみたい」という事。そこで Power Apps の楽器アプリで世界初の演奏会をしたいな、と結びついたのです。ただ、1人で演奏してもつまらない。複数人で演奏会をする事に意味がありました。そこで遠方に住んでいるKodama氏に相談をして、僕が主催する Home 365 のイベントに合わせて東京に来てもらって演奏会を実現しました。

この演奏会の模様を YouTube にアップロードしてツイートすると、海外の PowerAddicts（ Power Apps な人達）から大きな反響をいただきました。これに関しては Microsoft MVP の Hiro くん（ https://twitter.com/mofumofu_dance ）のおかげが大きいです。英語が苦手な僕らにとって、海外の PowerAddicts と日ごろから交流をしている Hiro くんが英語で拡散してくれたという点が大きいです。視聴数も増え、また、 Microsoft 社の Power Apps のPMや Dynamics 365 の偉い人達からも反応がありました。まさかそこまで大きな話題になるとは思わなく、また、これを機に海外の人たちとの交流も盛んになり、僕の Twitter の楽しみ方まで変わりました。

毎年3月に世界の Microsoft MVP が集まるお祭りがあります。英語が話せない日本人にとってはなかなか厳しいイベントなのですが、僕は今回初受賞での初参加で、開催中に PowerAddicts な MVP達と実際に会って交流する事ができました。僕が楽器アプリを作っていなければ、おそらく海外のMVP達と一言も会話せずに終わったんじゃないかと思います。つまり、 MVP Global Summit の楽しみ方も変えてくれました。

今年6月に開催された Microsoft Business Applications Summit においてはキーノートで流れた映像に僕とKodama氏が1秒程度映りました。たった1秒ですが、世界中のコミュニティーリーダーの中で僕ら2名が映ってるのはかなり異例だと思います。これも楽器アプリを作成した事によるチャンスだったと思います。
そして、 Ignite 2019 では、とうとう Satya Nadella 氏のキーノートで、彼の背後で彼の5倍くらいの大きさでまた日本人では僕ら2名が映りました。たった1秒足らずですが、それでも凄い事だと思います。
日本には僕よりも Power Apps のスキルが高い人は日本の人口くらいいると思います。ここで僕らを選んでくれたのはやはり楽器アプリを作って話題になったからという点が大きいと思います。

At the Microsoft Business Applications Summit held in June this year, I and Kodama were shown for about one second in the video played on the keynote. It's only a second, but it's quite unusual for us to be two of the world's community leaders. I think this was also a chance to create a musical instrument application.

If I and Kodama lived near each other, I would probably have done more concerts on a regular basis, but unfortunately they had families at a distance. So I'm working slowly, but I've done three concerts so far.

グラスハープアプリを公開したところ、海外の PowerAddicets が家族も一緒に演奏してくれました。自分が作ったアプリを海外の人が楽しんでくれることはうれしいし、 Power Apps も 音楽も言葉の壁は越えますね。シンプルなUIとシンプルな機能さえあれば、特に説明をしなくても言語関係なく年齢関係なく利用してもらえるという事です。

When I released the Grass Harp App, overseas PowerAddicets played with my family. I'm glad that people from overseas enjoy the apps I have made, and Power Apps and music go beyond language barriers. As long as there is a simple UI and simple functions, you can use it regardless of language and age regardless of the explanation.

夢は大きく持ちたいです 。Microsoft の大きなイベントに招かれて演奏会をするのが夢です。

■僕の楽器アプリに対する想い ( My thoughts on musical instrument apps )
ここはKodama氏と大きく違っていて、彼はあくまでもリアルな楽器の楽器アプリ化にこだわっています。一方僕はそのこだわりは全くなく、むしろ新しい楽器を Power Apps で作成していきたいと思っています。また、楽器を演奏した事がない人でも気軽に演奏できるアプリを作っていきたいです。ここの違いは全く問題なくて、実際に彼との演奏ではお互い趣旨の違った楽器アプリでうまくコラボして演奏会を実現しています。

正直、僕は未だに Power Apps のスキルはあまりありません。ようやく脱初心者で中級者のビリくらいの位置にいると思います。そんな自分がこのような経験ができたのも、やはり発想力と行動力とコミュニティの力だと思っています。特にいつも助けてくれるコミュニティメンバーの力は大きいです。
