Atomのバージョンを1.18.0にしてから頻繁にフリーズするようになりましたが，ここに載っていた方法で解決できました．
- PreferencesからPackagesを選択．
- Install Packagesの中からgithubを探して，Disableを押します．
これでフリーズしなくなりました．
