SSH接続先の.bashrcをいじって、プロンプトの表示をいじっていたら、Emacsが急に落ちて、それ以後Trampで接続できなくなった。Tramp Modeフリーズ時の対処法はEmacs Wikiにまとまっていた。
私の場合は、Tramp hangs #6: Not recognising the remote shell promptというやつであった。
