Raspberry Pi 2B / 3B+ でWireGuardの性能を測ってみた

概要

こんな感じのネットワークでRaspberry PiでWireGuardの性能がどのぐらい出るのか測ってみました。

測定環境

  • 測定対象１
    • Raspberry Pi 2 Model B
  • 測定対象２
    • Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+
  • OS
    • Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
  • 測定ソフト
    • iperf3

結果

まとめ

  • Raspberry Pi 2B はLANが100BASE-TXなので100Mbpsで頭打ちしています
  • Raspberry Pi 3B+ はPC1<=>PC2間でパフォーマンスが大きく下がりました。これはRaspberry PiのLANが基盤内部でUSB2.0接続になっているためです
  • CPUはWireGuardの暗号化/復号化処理を行っても余力がありそう。LAN側の性能に引きずられているみたいです
