androidのlayoutにおいて、文章がとても長いとき

をつけるとうまく三点リーダーで文章を省略してくれる。
のですが、4.0.0だと三点リーダーが表示されないところがあるようです。
4.0.0自体が三点リーダーに対応していないわけではなく、

こちらが設定されていると表示されない。

こちらが設定されていると表示される模様。。。
