D-Wave was one of the earliest commercial companies formed to pursue quantum computing. There were founded in 1999 in Vancouver, Canada with the goal of making practical quantum computing a reality and have focused on developing a series adiabatic quantum annealing processors that can be used with binary quadratic optimization problems. They recently introduced the 1000+ qubit machine called the D-Wave 2X and are currently the only company offering a quantum computer to the marketplace.

QC Ware Corp. is an early-stage company developing a cloud-based platform for quantum computing machines. QC Ware’s platform simplifies QC programming and provides low-cost access to QC machines. They are located in Mountain View, California.

(QCI) was founded by three scientists from the Department of Applied Physics at Yale University with expertise in quantum devices and quantum information processing using solid state devices. QCI will also commercialize components, devices, and software that will accelerate basic research and enable the scaling of quantum computing. QCI was formed in late 2015 and is based in Connecticut.

QxBranch is headquartered in Washington, D.C., with offices in Hong Kong, London, and Adelaide, Australia.

Rigetti Computing
Rigetti Computing, based in Berkeley, California, is building a cloud quantum computing platform for artificial intelligence and computational chemistry. Rigetti recently opened up private beta testing of Forest its API for quantum computing in the cloud. Forest emphasizes a quantum-classical hybrid computing model, integrating directly with existing cloud infrastructure and treating the quantum computer as an accelerator.
