本日(2016/06/14)開催されたAppleのデベロッパーカンファレンス「WWDC 2016」にて、MacのOSの名称についての、大きな変更がたった今発表されました（2016/6/14 AM2:41執筆）。
これまで長い間「OS X」の名前が使われてきましたが、次回のバージョンからは「macOS」となります。
「mac」は小文字です。正式な表記をする場合は気をつけましょう。
