画像の重ね合わせはcompositeコマンドを使う。
以下は、source1.jpg と source2.jpg をそれぞれ 25% の濃さで重ね合わせ、結果を output.jpg として出力する例。
$ composite -dissolve 25%x25% source1.jpg source2.jpg output.jpg
