事象
VirtuaBoxをアップデートしました。
なので Guest Additions を今一度インストールした時のことでした。
$ sudo sh mnt/cdrom/VBoxLinuxAdditions.run

最後の Could not find the X.Org or XFree86 Window System, skipping. は何だろう？
前回インストールした時には出力されていませんでした・・・何だろう？
原因 : X Windowがインストールされていないから
X Window ってなに？
本来はキーボードだけでぺちぺち操作するUNIX系のOS（Linuxとか）を、マウスをぐりぐりして操作するWindowsっぽい使い勝手にしてくれるやつ（のひとつ）
X Window Systemとは｜「分かりそう」で「分からない」でも「分かった」気になれるIT用語辞典
対応 : 「無いから飛ばしたよ」と言っているだけでエラーではないので気にしない
I also got the error you mention ("Cannot find the X.Org or XFree86 Window System, skipping) but that's just a warning. That's why it says "skipping". It simply skipped installing the parts of the guest additions that deal with X. The rest was installed correctly.
